Hyperliquid Weekly — Fees fall 8.5% WoW as HYPE slides to $77.02

2026-10-26 · 2026-w44

The BuyHype Bayesian model reads WAIT at a 58% up-probability, two points above the WAIT at 56% recorded a week ago. The move was not driven by price: HYPE ended the week at $77.02, down 3.5% week over week. The largest single offset came from the supply side, where the Assistance Fund added a net 0.14M HYPE over seven days and now holds 48.27M HYPE, set against 2.75M HYPE in the unstaking queue scheduled to complete within seven days. That is a modest buyback against a larger near-term unlock, which is why the model leans cautious rather than constructive.

Fee flow softened. Protocol fees came in at $19.04M for the last seven days versus $20.80M in the prior seven, a decline of 8.5%. Core perps remain the engine, with $3.88B in 24-hour volume and $11.06B in open interest, so the pullback reads as a moderation in activity rather than a break in the franchise. The question for next week is whether the fee print stabilizes near $19M or continues lower.

Capital on chain contracted. Chain DeFi TVL was $2.37B, down 4.0% week over week, and stablecoins on Hyperliquid totaled $6.92B, down 2.6%. Both measures moving in the same direction points to de-risking rather than rotation within the ecosystem. Stablecoin balances are the more important of the two, because they are the dry powder for perps margin and for builder-market activity.

HIP-3 builder markets continue to broaden the product surface. Ten DEXs generated $1.63B in combined 24-hour volume, with the top builder, XYZ, at $1.59B, meaning the leader accounts for the large majority of builder volume. Within XYZ, the most active markets were xyz:XYZ100 at $197.25M, xyz:SP500 at $179.09M, xyz:CL at $144.00M, xyz:SKHX at $143.75M and xyz:BRENTOIL at $125.03M, a mix skewed toward equity-index and energy exposure. Concentration in a single builder is a distribution risk as much as it is a proof point.

News flow was mixed. Multicoin named HYPE its top holding on October 19, the kind of positioning disclosure that can pull attention toward the token. Coverage also flagged open interest in U.S. stock contracts on Hyperliquid, echoing the equity-index activity visible in builder volumes, and noted a trader with $3.94M in lifetime profit opening a new position alongside a trader holding a leveraged long in 26,000 HYPE. Against that, reports of wallets flagged as high risk following an HTX-linked transfer are a reminder that compliance and wallet-screening friction remains a live reputational variable for the venue.

The item to watch next week is whether the 2.75M HYPE unstaking queue clears without a matching pickup in Assistance Fund buybacks, since that spread is the clearest near-term test of the supply picture. This is data commentary, not financial advice.
