Hyperliquid vs Binance
The onchain perp challenger against the world's largest CEX. We compare custody, fees, liquidity, tokens and access with real data where it exists, without pretending one is strictly better — the right choice depends on what you trade and how. Not financial advice.

Custody and trust model
Binance holds your funds in custody with a strong but centralized security record. Hyperliquid is non-custodial: assets stay in your wallet and every balance is verifiable on-chain, but the responsibility for key safety shifts to you. Different trust models, not just different brands.
Fees
Hyperliquid charges 0.035% taker / 0.01% maker on perps with no gas and no spread AMM friction, and builder codes add a permanent discount (4% via BuyHype's link). Binance futures fees tier around 0.02-0.05% taker depending on volume and BNB holdings, plus funding. Net cost is close for takers; makers often prefer Hyperliquid's rebate-free simplicity at 0.01%.
Perp liquidity and volume
Binance still leads aggregate open interest and depth across hundreds of pairs. Hyperliquid is the dominant onchain perp venue — around 58% of onchain perp DEX fees — and its open interest is a meaningful single-digit share of the total CEX market, concentrated in majors. Deep on BTC/ETH/SOL/HYPE; thinner beyond the top names.
Tokens: HYPE vs BNB
BNB is a mature exchange token with quarterly burns and broad utility across Binance's ecosystem; HYPE is younger, with a ~22% float, fee-backed buyback-and-burn via the Assistance Fund, and staking yield. BuyHype's valuation page compares their P/E proxies side by side with listed exchange operators.
Regulation and access
Binance operates licensed entities in many jurisdictions but has faced enforcement actions in others. Hyperliquid has kept a lean structure and, as of mid-2026, US officials have publicly discussed a compliant path — though no formal approval exists. Both carry jurisdiction-dependent access risk; check your local rules.
Which should you choose?
Self-custody purists and active perp traders who value onchain transparency lean Hyperliquid; users who want fiat rails, hundreds of pairs, insurance-like protection and one-click mobile UX lean Binance. Many traders use both — BuyHype's live data helps with the HYPE side of that decision.
